Install without guessing the folder
In the browser, Options then AddOns then Install AddOns takes a zip. The client stores it in IndexedDB and loads it next run. On Windows the button is Open AddOns Folder, under benilla-config/AddOns. The folder name must match the .toc.
AZSSpellMeter reads AZS_GetMeter, asks for 0.87 or newer, and uses /azsm. nfUI has an open report about a browser zip outer folder. I did not reproduce that error.
Questions
Will a retail addon load?
No. These notes use interface 11200, the 1.12 value.
Can an addon change combat?
The published API is described as read-only. This page does not document a write path.
